"The topic will be around the security of Internet of things (IoT) connected products, which I believe fits nicely into the ‘Adapting to modern threats’ category. In respect of IoT connected products, companies now have around a month to ensure compliance with the Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure Act 2022. Compliance with the law is required by 29th April 2024, so will extremely topical when the Security Buyer Live takes place in mid-May. This law applies to all consumer IoT products, including but not limited to: connected safety-relevant products such as door locks connected home automation and alarm systems Internet of Things base stations and hubs to which multiple devices connect smart home assistants smartphones smoke detectors connected cameras connected fridges, washers, freezers, coffee machines Michelle can talk about the threats that prompted the law; examples of how insecure IoT products have been exploited; what the law covers; what the legislation requires; the penalties for not complying with the legislation and how companies can achieve compliance. "

This financial freedom enables PCPI to be agile and to deliver difficult crime and police demand reduction projects within very short time periods.
